Building Our Future, Support the SJS Library Renovation Project!

We’re kicking off a new library campaign!

The story began in 1907 when the doors opened at St. Joseph School. Back then, the library was a gymnasium and transformed into the library you see today around the 1990's. The story continues to evolve through the years by adding comfortable seating areas, a smartboard in the teaching area, self-checkout stations, and most recently, the ability to keep families stocked with books throughout the pandemic. For some, the library was truly an oasis during this past year and a half.

We find ourselves at a tipping point and want to take the library into the future. We’re raising funds for a state-of-the art library renovation that appeals to all grades and the entire community. It's been 35 years since we’ve revived this space and the past 18 months have shown us the need for space utilization. The need for this renovation comes from:

  • The urgency caused by the pandemic for creative use of the library;
  • The necessity for light and fresh air;
  • The commitment to small group pod learning;
  • A commitment to be a leader with current library and technology standards and student-centered learning;
  • A space that's engaging for our primary school students and a hub for middle school students;
  • The demand to develop a space for families and the overall community to enjoy during the day;
  • An amazing opportunity to create more indoor/outdoor spaces;
  • And, an increasing sentiment from our community to improve physical spaces around campus.
