Will there be class art projects this year?

Not this year. We just had a major auction last May, and we thought it would be nice to give our class art team a break. The Halloween Bash auction falls early this year and it takes a tremendous effort on the part of our volunteers to get those projects completed.

What should I wear to the auction?

Each year there is a wide range of dress from casual to fancy, and many people dress according to the auction theme. Halloween Bash allows for a wide range of costume choices from scary to classy to silly. Ultimately, wear what makes you feel ghoulishly great and ready to party for a good cause. Look here for some inspiration.

I can’t attend the live auction; how can I still participate?

There will be lots of amazing items and packages available in the online silent auction. Get in on one or more of the amazing buy-in opportunities. Fun for kids and adults, like the Mom’s Ski Bus, the Pickleball Tournament, Father/Daughter Dance, UW Hub Mother/Son Bowling and many more! Buy-Ins will be available at the Halloween Bash Kick-Off party on Oct 7th and online at 12:00 noon that day. Our Silent and Super Silent Auctions are full of incredible travel opportunities, special dining experiences, fun activities and great items. The Silent and Super Silent Auctions open Monday, October 24 at 8:00 A.M. and close on Saturday , October 29 at 12:00 noon. Links will be in the Flash, on the auction website and in this Tuesday Auction email. Stay tuned.

Why is the auction happening in the fall, we just had one last spring?

Historically, our auction has been in the fall. It has provided an opportunity for us to come together early in the year to celebrate our community. Last year we opted to have an outdoor spring event as COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. A spring event is a challenge because it competes with other local non-profit fundraising events and bumps up against our fiscal year end of June 30. Moving back to a fall event allows families to prioritize St. Joe’s with your year-end giving.

I don’t have a vacation home or a suite at Climate Pledge Arena, can I donate a smaller item?

There is a place for everything and everyone at the Halloween Bash Auction and we will gratefully accept anything you would like to donate! However, since we just had a major auction last May, we are trying to focus more on experiences and encouraging families to make their donation to fund-a-need.

Why is there no Friday Family Night Auction?

We have intentionally moved away from the Friday Family Night in order to have other opportunities for families to come together and celebrate on campus. We have the annual Party on the HIll, the Mixin’ & Minglin’ series that includes: Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee, the Holly Jolly Gingerbread, and Family Math Night. This year we are also offering an auction themed Shriek, Rattle & Roller Skate party on October 16  (buy your spot here) It will be a fun event for kids of all ages. Moreover, there are lots of buy-in opportunities to bring the community together that will be available to bid upon soon!

Why is the auction not at St. Joseph School?

We are trying new things! Having the auction on campus has its limitations. This year we are excited to be at Fremont Studios. We want to include as many people as possible and the capacity at Fremont Studios allows us to accommodate 100+ more guests than we can on campus.
